Concern for the fate of Stoney Brennan

The committee has been concerned for some time as to what fate awaits the stone head of Stoney Brennan removed from the Westbridge.

BAFFLE and Eamonn McNally have come up with one solution as follows:

The Co. Council has no place to hang poor Stoney

Now that the election is over

And the opposition done the winning

The question still remaining is

“What happened to Stoney Brennan”

Some people said he’s stored away

In some County Council shed

Behind bags of cement and shovels

Lies our Limestone Stoney head.

We know what happened in Galway

When Padraic O’ Connaire lost his crown

He was set up in a new museum

The pride of Galway town

Our West bridge got a facelift

The old toilets were taken down

And the wall that once held Stoney

Was carted out of town.

So the problem now arises

In Loughrea there’s no stonewalls

So if we could make a small suggestion…

Could ye HANG HIM BY THE BALLS..
