Raymond Gately
BAFFLE Bard in 2006 with his poem ‘Odyssey’, Ray only joined the society the previous year. Now he is a member of the committee and the established ‘Tour Guide’ at the BAFFLE Ramble during the October Festival. Among his other hobbies are walking, reading, tennis, theatre and travelling.
His favourite poem is ‘The Windhover’ by his favourite poet Gerard Manley Hopkins
He lists four reasons for being in BAFFLE: ‘Love the craic’ ‘Keeps me writing’ ‘Listen to some interesting poetry’ ‘Like to support Loughrea events’. He says the Festival and other BAFFLE nights provide him with good entertainment.
